WHY A STUDENT MAY NOT BE ALLOWED TO TAKE THE EXAM

School graduates must pass the state (final) certification. Passing examinations allows you to get a certificate and the opportunity to enter a university. But, unfortunately, there are cases when a student is not allowed to take the exam. Consider under what circumstances this happens, and how to correct an unpleasant situation.

Reasons for non-admission to the exam

There must be a good reason for a suspension from taking the exam. According to the order of the https://freeessaywriters.net/ Ministry of Education and Rosobrnadzor No. 190 “On the procedure for conducting the GIA in programs of secondary general education”, a student may not be allowed to take the exam for the following reasons:

  • The presence of at least one unsatisfactory final grade in the subject for grades 10 and 11.
  • Lack of a mark in any subject (this can happen due to a large number of passes and the inability to conduct certification).
  • Failure in the final essay (statement) for grade 11 (failure is set when the student was absent or wrote the work unsatisfactorily).

Only the listed cases are a legal basis for not allowing a student to take the exam. One of three reasons is enough for a student to be unable to take part in the state (final) certification and be released from school with an academic certificate.

Who decides whether a student is allowed to take the exam

There are situations when a class teacher or a teacher in any subject threatens to prevent a graduate from passing the exam. However, parents and students should be aware that the decision on admission to certification can only be made by the pedagogical council of the school and issued no later than May 25 of the current year. That is, neither the teacher nor the class teacher have legal grounds for not admitting a graduate to the state (final) certification.

Who can retake the exam

The decision on admission to re-taking the exam is made by the SEC (FEC). The following students may be eligible for the assessment on the reserve day:

  • Those who did not pass the exam for a good reason, confirmed by the relevant document.
  • Graduates of the current academic year who received an unsatisfactory result in mathematics or the Russian language at the state (final) certification.
  • Those who did not complete the examination paper for a good reason, documented.
  • Suspended from passing the exam due to violation of the established order of its organization.

In all cases, the decision to allow a student to retake the exam in the current year is made by the SEC (FEC) and depends on the results of checking the reason that caused the need to re-attest.
