People use mirrors regularly. In fact, they are commodities people often take for granted and do not pay much attention to them, though they may have a considerable potential when their practical application is improved and extended. In such a context, it is possible to focus on several issues which can extend the actual potential of mirrors and their possible improvements:

* It is necessary to focus on possible ways of applications of mirror, otherwise than traditional ones;

* It is important to take into consideration physical characteristics of mirrors (surface, ability to mirror objects, etc.) and reasons for using mirrors;

* Possible improvements should be analyzed in order to find out what mirrors can be used for and what kind of improvements can be made to make them more informative, for instance, or more useful;

* It is necessary to consider practical application of possible improvements.

At the same time, it is important to take into consideration who is normally using mirrors and what effects potential improvements can have. In this respect, it should be said that all people use mirrors and they do it daily. Therefore, it is possible to presuppose that if the application of mirrors can be extended than they can be very helpful to people and they can use not only as objects in which they can see their reflection. In such a way, the user of mirrors is an ordinary person.

On analyzing the current use of mirrors and their potential application, it should be said that mirrors’ interface has a huge potential, which though is not fully realized. What is meant here is the fact that people use mirrors without even thinking that the surface, the interface of the mirror as well as mirror itself may be used more efficiently. It is perfectly flat, it can have quite a large surface and potentially can be used as an effective device where some important information can be stored. For instance, it is possible to re-work a conventional mirror in a bathroom, into a mirror that doubles like a whiteboard. In such a way, a user can write appointments and thoughts on it, attach memos like fridge magnets, and glimpse them as they brush their teeth in the morning. In addition, it is possible to focus on the development of technologies which can make the surface of the mirror interactive. This new feature of mirrors can be used for a brief health examination. For instance, the complexion or eyes of an individual is captured by the mirror, processed with the help of special applications on the computer or Internet, and results can be transmitted back to the individual recommending attending a doctor or changing diet, or taking more detailed examination, etc.

Thus, taking into account all above mentioned, it is possible to conclude that the potential application of mirrors is enormous but it is not fully realized at the moment. In actuality, the interface of mirrors is plain, if not to say primitive. At the same time, the improvement of mirrors can make them consistently more effective and useful.
